A few months ago, during my freediving certification at Catalina island, we heard of a baby sea lion that had jumped up on a woman’s boat and was suckling on her leg. Of course, I quickly grabbed my camera and jumped on a paddleboard to go find them.
Unfortunately, by the time we got there, the baby sea lion (Emmy) had already been taken by @marineanimalrescue_85 care center because it was too young to survive on its own.
Luckily, the woman who had found it was the amazing @kingaphilipps! We quickly began talking about her incredible aquatic adventures and my dreams of being a marine biologist and underwater photographer.
Along with helping me connect with multiple marine biologists, photographers, and organizations, today, she invited me to join her and @marinemammalcare to release Emmy, the sea lion, back to the wild!
